Western sanctions to force Belarus to embrace tighter manufacturing cooperation with Russia MOSCOW, 9 June (BelTA) – The threat of sanctions on the part of Western countries encourages the Belarusian production sector to embrace even tighter manufacturing cooperation with Russian enterprises. Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik made the statement on the sidelines of the Belarusian-Asian Forum, which took place in the Belarusian embassy in Moscow on 9 June, BelTA has learned. The official said: “Russia is traditionally our main trade partner and the main partner as far as manufacturing cooperation is concerned. The existing situation when many European countries have declared they intend to enforce sanctions once again encourages us towards even tighter manufacturing cooperation. We see the same interest in our Russian partners, too.”
